This is not a production from black and white films, there is a lot of color in it, there is a lot of added value," noted Mr. Zhelyazkov. In his words, this is a sustainable sector, which, despite the serious challenges of recent years, has serious potential, for the development of which a well-functioning common market is important.

Dr. Eng. Nikola Rangelov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Association of the Metallurgical Industry, greeted all those present and the metallurgical community in the country, emphasizing that metallurgy in our lands dates back to antiquity, as proven by the oldest gold deposit in the world, discovered in the necropolis near Varna, the mask of Teres and other finds. "Continuing through the centuries, today metallurgy is developing sustainably, has a high contribution to the national economy with 14 billion leva of production and 15% in commodity exports. The contribution of Bulgarian metals to the total production of the EU is also high. 14% is in copper, 10.5% in lead and 4% is for zinc. Our metal production has long been present in the lives of European citizens. The fact is that the euro coins are made from the alloys and blanks produced by Bulgarian metallurgy," noted Dr. Rangelov.
